These heavily built ‘ macho’ men allegedly threatened workers at the office, seized their mobile phones and locked up the manager’s office during their operations.
According to sources, the ‘macho’ men said they were not pleased with the appointment of the new manager and wanted his exit, hence their action.
Meanwhile, the Eastern regional Police Public Affairs Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, has assured that investigations are ongoing and the culprits will soon be apprehended.
“The men had bolted by the time the police got to the scene, so the matter is under investigation now.”
However, a member of staff at the NHIA, who pleaded anonymity, said workers were surprised by the sudden appearance of the said new regional manager, adding that they didn't even know his name.
