The Ghana Gas Company Limited has lashed out at the Power Ministry for throwing dust into the eyes of the public with regard to the reason for the intensified load shedding.
The company says it has nothing to do with the situation as claimed by the Power ministry in its statement explaining why ECG is shedding more load.
"The accession that the current increase in load shedding in the country "has come about as a result of the shut down of Ghana National Gas Company limited (Ghana Gas) is incorrect." A statement by Ghana Gas said.
The Power ministry in a statement said “the current increase in the quantum of load shedding in the country has come about as a result of a shutdown of Ghana National Gas company limited (Ghana Gas) at Atuabo to enable the African Middle East Investment (AMERI) power plant to be connected unto the gas supply system of Ghana Gas."

But the Ghana Gas company in a counter statement says it cannot take blame for the current load shedding which has worsened as it has no contract with the African Middle East Investment (AMERI) in the power installation at the Aboadze power enclave.
The statement further says Ghana Gas is only assisting AMERI to connect their pipelines to the VRA systems because of its engineers experience in the fiield.
In setting the records straight Ghana GAS said it only honoured a written request from the VRA to shutdown its processing and supply of lean gas to enable VRA connect AMERI pipelines to its (VRA) exiting pipelines after it the VRA claimed it has made available light crude oil to power its Aboadze plants to deal with any energy shortfall.
Ghana Gas said finds the Power Ministries attempt to throe dust in the eyes of the public "disingenuous".
