“Grammys and Oscars attendees dress differently”- Fred Nuamah

“When it comes to movie awards, you just don’t dress. You [should] dress well. It is a night for the movie industry, so if you are going to join them, you must dress like them.”`

Fred Nuamah is the founder of Ghana Movie Awards

According to Mr. Frederick Nuamah, the brain behind the event, wearing short and revealing dresses to the seventh edition of the Ghana Movie Awards event is a no-no.

In an interview with Pulse.com.gh, he noted that “when it comes to movie awards, you just don’t dress. You [should] dress well. It is a night for the movie industry, so if you are going to join them, you must dress like them.”`

“If you watch the Oscars for example, there is a difference between music awards and movie awards. When you go to Grammys, the way they dress is different from Oscars. This is simple and straightforward. Every event or ceremony has its dress code.”

Mr. Nuamah went ahead to say, that since the incorporation of that rule the industry has changed in a way because “at our event, you dare not come with anything short.”

The organiser of the award scheme spoke on the Accra-based Hitz FM about the yearly award scheme and the behavior that would be considered acceptable at the event.

He noted that patrons of the night could buy their own tickets, drive all the way to the venue but should note that they can't wear “whatever pleases them” to the event.
