But in a Facebook post, Paa Quecy Adu said "I am still NUGS President, there is not much cause for alarm, fellow students."
Read below his statement
"I took over NUGS convinced that NUGS has grown past some of these politicallly-engineered drama. I took over confident we are the executives leading NUGS in her 50th year and that our actions will reflect leadership over a matured UNION, The National Union of Ghana Students.
Some traitors of NUGS within our ranks , few as such, have managed to spread a dishonest rumour of me being stepped aside as NUGS President. Kindly ignore them.
I took over NUGS from Mr Prosper Dzitse knowing that there are unfortunate partisan interests lingering in our Union, and that we can only win our fight against the enemies of the student movement in Ghana only when we unite and speak with one voice despite any perceived political differences. And since day one, putting Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God before me, I have lived to that.
For those who will allow their political paymasters to use them against the students of Ghana, I leave posterity to judge. I remain the NUGS President, elected and duly sworn in to stand by and for students, all students, irrespective of their political, tribal, or religious affiliation. Our fifty years struggle for an accessible quality education must guide us in all endeavors. I assure you, there would be cleaning in NUGS and it shall be done with metal scrubbing brushes."
NUGS Lives.
