Provisional results show that Eva Abugabe who contested against Maud A. Korah from University of Development Studies lost to her with 124 valid votes cast margin.
For International Relations, University of Ghana presented Daniel Sarpong Jnr who raced against Gideon Odame Egyir. Gideon won by a 212 margin.
Emmanuel Akandi Jnr who contested for the General Secretary position lost by 108 margin to Ferdinand while Wahab Abdul Saliu lost to Lawer McMartey with a difference of 197 valid votes cast in the Education and Demo Secretary position.

Many have attributed the nation’s premiere university’s great loss to its disjoint force. Reports suggest that UG had a divided front.
Delegates for the institution were said to be against their own aspirants. University of Ghana was required to present 65 delegates to vote. The norm has always been 25 from main campus, 20 from distance and 20 from City campus to make the total 65 number of required delegates for UG.

However, its Student Representative Council’s president, Davis Ohene Fobi allegedly defied this and proceeded to present all 65 delegates handpicked by him from only Main campus to push a certain agenda.
This sparked protest and stiff resistance from the leaders of both Distance and City campuses as they saw no reason why Mr Fobi would want to arbitrary deny them the opportunity to select their delegates. Issues were later resolved and Distance and City campus were given accreditation accordingly.

The congress, held at the Islamic University College in Accra which saw Paa-Quecy Adu elected as president of Ghana’s mother student body, has been described by many as shambolic and cataclysmic.
The police was however at post to maintain sanity.
