The president challenged management to maximise profit to sustain the company.
He also pledged to make sure that the company survives as long as he remains president.
"This is a new lifeline for state transport. I have the belief and faith that this company will survive and as long as I remain, president, I will make sure that this company survives."
The state transport operator is facing stiff competition from other private transport operators in the private sector.
It is often accused of delays in take offs, poor management and inadequate buses.
But the CEO of STC Samuel Nuama Donkor said additional measures are being rolled out to beat competitors in the sector.
He also assured that the company will thrive under his watch.
The company was adjudged the Best Public Transport in Greater Accra by the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) for its outstanding performance in terms of road safety in 2015.
