GRA task force accrues GHC50m from tax defaulters

We visited a total number of 750 tax payers from whom we collected the total sum.
 
 

The Ghana Revenue Authority has accrued close to  GHC50 millon in revenue from rogue tax payers in last  month alone. The sent out strong warning of prosecuting and closing down all companies who have defaulted their tax obligations.

The exercise began last month, and saw the closure of a number of companies who had failed to redeem their tax obligations.

A month on, the Ghana Revenue Authority has disclosed that their efforts have yeilded the required results, leading to a major boost in their  revenue inflows.

Before GRA special Task Force embarked on the exercise, the revenue authority was lagging behind in their domestic tax revenue targets for the first half of the year, hence the intensified move to make up the gap.
