In the report, a young Algerian man who claims to have fought with the Islamist group Daech in Iraq and Syria tells of his contact with the French intelligence services, particularly the Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE).  He accuses them of using him to liaise with terrorist organisations in Niger.

Recently, arrest warrants were issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas Commander Mohammed Deif for alleged war crimes. Alongside these high-profile cases, the ICC has convicted several other notorious figures.

Donald Kennedy, a neurobiologist who headed the Food and Drug Administration before becoming president of Stanford University, where he oversaw major expansions of its campus and curriculum and weathered a crisis over research spending, died April 21 in Redwood City, California. He was 88.
