Students of Gyaama Pensan Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti Region have brought classes to a halt following a demonstration against the headmaster of their school.

The demonstration led to the injury of 4 of the students.

According to Accra-based Citi FM, the 4 injured have been sent to the Aboaso Government Hospital. They are said to be responding to treatment.

The students have vandalized school properties including the vehicle of the headmaster and his apartment.

Police officers have been sent to the school to ensure law and order prevails.

DCE for the Kwabre East District, Regional and District Directors of the Ghana Education, and school authorities, are locked up in a meeting over the matter.

Meanwhile, some parents are trooping in the school to check on their children.

In a related development, two out of four students who were admitted to the Aboaso Government Hospital after sustaining injuries in the riot have been discharged.

Two other female students are also responding to treatment at the hospital.

Principal Physician Assistant at the Aboaso Government hospital, Esther Akua Prempeh Konadu, said the students are out of any danger.

This is not the first time a security issue is occurring in a secondary school in the Ashanti Region.

The Asokore Mampong police in the Ashanti Region earlier arrested 4 persons at the Kumasi Academy SHS (KUMACA) over missing weapons in the school.

Meanwhile, the school authorities are yet to explain why they keep weapons and whether they are registered.

KUMACA was recently in the news over the outbreak of Influenza H1N1 in the school which claimed at least four lives in December 2017.
