Lucie Safarova beat Sam Stosur at the Prague Open to claim her first title of a 2016 season in which she had not previously won a match.
Safarova came into the tournament on home territory with a 0-5 record for the year, but she has turned that around in fine fashion in the space of a week, culminating in a 3-6 6-1 6-4 victory over Australia's Stosur.
Having won this tournament twice before when it was an ITF event, Safarova had to fight back after Stosur took an opening set that featured just one break point.
But the crowd got behind Safarova as she began to dominate from the baseline, with Stosur committing four double faults in the second set alone to tilt momentum in the home hope's favour.
Once again, a solitary opening was all that was required, Safarova breaking for a 4-3 lead in the decider before cruising to a seventh career WTA Tour title which should kick-start her campaign.
