Alhaji Grunsah has confirmed that Kennedy Agyapong has expressed interest in the Kumasi based club ahead of the new season.

“We are waiting for Kennedy Agyapong to complete the takeover of King Faisal. He will determine the direction of the club in this season’s league," he told Silver FM.

Kumasi King Faisal was the fourth force in Ghana football in the early 2000s after Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Obuasi Ashanti Gold.

However, they suffered relegation for the first time in 2010-11 and went down again in the 2013/14 season after returning to the topflight.

King Faisal has been battling both financially and on the field of play since they suffered their second relegation. Not pleased with the way and manner in which they were relegated headed to court and the issue has been pending since 2014.

They have however been given a lifeline after the Ghana Football Association Congress which is the highest decision-making body of the GFA agreed to play an 18-man league by including the Kumasi based club and Great Olympics to bring an end to a litigation involving the football governing body and the clubs in question over the illegibility of their relegation.

The 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League has been scheduled to start on 28th December 2019.
