An own goal from right-back Christopher Nettey early in the second half consigned the Porcupine Warriors to a narrow loss to the UAE second division side.

Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh named a strong line-up for the game, with goalkeeper Razak Abalora being shield by a back four of Mubarik Yussif, Ismail Ganiyu, Patrick Asmah and Nettey.

Richard Boadu and Emmanuel Keyekeh played as a midfield pivot, while Fabio Gama, Dickson Afoakwa and Clinton Opoku provided support for lone striker Joseph Amoako.

In a groundbreaking moment for Ghanaian music, Solomon Obeng, popularly known as DJ Loft has etched his name in history as the first local Ghanaian DJ to be featured in Apple Music’s prestigious Africa Now Mix series.

Despite starting the game on the ascendency, Kotoko lacked bite in the attacking third and were largely restricted to just possessing the ball.

Amoako had the best chance of the first half but the forward couldn’t direct his effort towards goal, as his shot went wide.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal United upped the ante in the second half and were rewarded for their pressure when Nettey turned the ball into his own net.

The Porcupine Warriors are set to play another friendly against an unnamed opponent before closing their pre-season tour in Dubai.
