Mr. Okraku acknowledged the successes chalked by Nyantakyi, adding that the ex-GFA boss stands out as his favourite to have ever headed the Association.

He also commended Nyantakyi’s role in ensuring Ghana’s three successive qualifications to the FIFA World Cup.

“Let me pay tribute to all of the former Presidents so far. I don’t know who was first but I believe they have all played their roles in getting us here today, but there is one man who has taken us to three Mundials (World Cup) and that is Kwesi Nyantakyi.

“And so he will be my favorite FA President,” he said on Starr Chat, hosted by Bola Ray.

Mr. Okraku beat off competition from five other candidates following a run-off at Friday's Extraordinary Congress in Accra.

After three rounds of voting, Mr. Okraku stood tall, winning with over 96% after going unopposed in the final round following George Afriyie’s concession.

Speaking on his plans for local football, he said he will “do whatever it takes to fill the stadiums.”

He also revealed plans to rebuild trust and restore the image and reputation of the GFA.
