The Black Meteors on Tuesday became the eighth team to book their ticket to the 2019 CAF U-23 Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt in 2019.

<p>This is the first time that Ghana have qualified for the competition which was first staged in 2011.</p>

<p>Ghana made this history by putting up a fight against Algeria, beating them 1-0 in Setif after the North Africans had secured a 1-1 draw in Accra- Skipper of the side Yaw Yeboah scored the only goal.</p>

<p>The CAF U-23 Cup of Nations was held every four years with the top three teams qualifying automatically to the Olympic Games and the fourth-placed finisher playing in a play-off against a team from the Asian Football Confederation.</p>
