Pulse.com.gh can confirm that Smartyys Productions and Management is the company that executed the branding of 116 Bus Rapid Transit Buses(BRT) to the tune of GHS 3,649,044.
The revelation of the cost of branding the buses in the 2015 Annual Report on the Petroleum Revenues Fund has led to public outcry with Parliament also asking for further answers on what led to the high cost.
Smartyys Productions is owned by popular actress Selassie Ibrahim who is also the wife of Ibrahim Adam, a former minister of Agriculture under the Rawlings administration.
When Pulse .com.gh contacted the public relations officer of Smartyys, Kleff Miaxwell Justice he confirmed that the contract was awarded to them by Metro Mass Transit.
“It’s the company that executed it for a client am sure if there is anything that has to do with clarifications of figures and everything they have to speak first, that is our client Metro Mass.” Miaxwell Justice said.

He however would not reveal further information regarding the cost of branding the buses adding that Metro Mass Transit should speak to the issue first.
When questioned on the floor of parliament the Transport minister Dzifa Ativor could not immediately justify why such an amount would be used to brand buses.
When Pulse.com.gh contacted the transport minister, she indicated that she was making the document available to Parliament to explain the figures.
The spraying and branding of each bus is reported to have cost GHS 31,457.28.
