Government to construct interchange at Tema roundabout to ease traffic

The persistent heavy traffic at the Tema Motorway roundabout for years has been a major concern for motorists and residents of the area.
 
 

In a bid to ease traffic congestion at the Tema round about, government has secured a loan from the Japanese government to construct an interchange.

Minister of Roads and Highways, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini is however confident the construction will begin in 2017 following assurances from the Japanese government.

Commenting on the impact of the yet to be constructed interchange in parliament, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini said the completion of the interchange will expand its capacity to contain the volume of traffic on the road.

He also added that the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana Ports and Habours Authority have provided additional dedicated right turning lanes and circulatory lanes to ease traffic on the Tema Motorway.
