I don't make a pesewa from politics - Nduom

The 2016 flagbearer of the Progressive People Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has said he did not go into politics to make money from the taxpayer.

According to him, politics does not give him a pesewa adding that his businesses give him the needed revenue for his survival.

According to Nduom, his decision to venture into politics was inspired by the motivation to serve the nation.

The business mogul speaking in an interview on Accra-based Joy FM, said "I see politics as a public service and must be a motivation to serve your country."

He said "Politics cannot make one pesewa for me" adding that "politics for him is for public service."

According to him, many politicians become poor after exiting office because their only source of income was politics.

"You can get hungry [and] I don’t want to be a hungry, desperate person…That [politics] is something that you do when you’ve accomplished something," he said.
