Police arrest Akua Donkor for alleged fraud

According to the complainant, Ama Yeboah, she bought a parcel of land from Akua Donkor in 2009.

Founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has been arrested by the police in the Ashanti region for allegedly defrauding a trader to the tune of GH¢10,500.

She said relatives of Akua Donkor warned her to stay away from the land in question.

She said, she had called Madam Donkor to complain about the development but all efforts to reach her proved futile.

Mrs. Yeboah said she had a hint that Akua Donkor was in Kumasi and reported the matter to Police for her arrest.

Madam Donkor has been asked by the police to write her statement.

3 men who robbed Akua Donkor jailed 60 years

Three men who robbed the founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) have been sentenced to 60 years inprisonment.

Each of the them will serve 20 years behind bars after an Accra High Court found them guilty of stealing Akua Donkor's $30,000 while she was on her way to the airport.

The suspects Yakubu Yusif, the Central Regional Chairman of the GFP, Barnabas Kayese, Madam Donkor’s personal driver and Abdul Razak Shaibu, were found guilty of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
