The funeral service of the late overlord of Dagbon was held from December 14 to 28 in line with the Dagbon chieftaincy impasse Mediation Committee's timelines.

The Abudu family led by the Regent of Diare, Abukari Abdulai, handed over the keys and a letter to the Yendi Municipal Security Council.

The move is in compliance with the dictates of the final roadmap to peace restoration in Dagbon.

He is reported to have relocated to the Dugu House which is about 120 metres away from the reconstructed Old Gbewaa Palace.

It will be recalled that government, represented by the Northern Regional Minister, on December 13, 2018, handed over the Old Gbewaa Palace to the Abudu Royals in Dagbon to perform the funeral of the late Yaa-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV.

They were to vacate the palace after the funeral for Andanis to also perform the funeral of Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani II from January 4 to 18, 2019.
