Chieftaincy clashes at Oshiye kills one

The Assembly man for the Kokrobite Electoral area, Rockson Sakah said that the incident occurred due to protracted chieftaincy issues in the area.

One person is reported dead after a chieftaincy dispute at Oshiye in the Ga-South municipality of the Greater Accra region.

According to him, the disputes have existed for more than 17 years between two factions who claim legitimacy to the stool.

The matter has been reported to the police and investigations have commenced.

Even though police have been deployed to the area to restore calm, reports say several residents are leaving the town.
