Here's what we know about Survivor season 39 so far.

The theme for Survivor season 39 is "Island of the Idols."

According to Inside Survivor , "players will be sent to the Island of the Idols throughout the season via various methods, and while there they have a chance to gain advice and advantages from a pair of past champions."

Survivor season 39 is rumored to feature two past winners as "advisors."

As Reality Blurred reports, season 39 of Survivor will feature Sandra Diaz-Twine and Rob Mariano as "advisors" to the contestants.

According to Inside Survivor , "details remain scarce at the moment," but they reported:

"The Survivor veterans are there to offer advice and guidance to the crop of new castaways competing on the season currently filming in Fiji. Unlike John Cochran in Game Changers, who shared advice with Debbie Wanner as part of an Exile reward, this is expected to be a season-long twist, not just a one-off appearance.

Its currently unclear exactly how this concept will work or to what extent Rob and Sandras role is in the season. However, we dont believe either returning player will be living at camp with the new castaways, at least not on a permanent basis. That would suggest the past champions are being kept separate from the cast and will only appear when called upon to give advice (perhaps as part of a reward or some sort of Exile twist)."

Boston Rob appeared on Survivor: Marquesas, Survivor: All-Stars, and Survivor: Heroes vs. Villain, and Survivor: Redemption Island, which he won. Sandra appeared on Survivor: Pearl Islands, Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, and Survivor: Game Changers, and she's the only person to win Survivor twice.

The two were friendly on Heroes vs Villains, and they also have a bond as two former winners (could they also be on Survivor's rumored all-winners season ?), so it'll be fun to see them interact with each other and with the castaways. However, this is all a rumor right now, and we'll have to wait until later this year to see if they're on season 39.

The premiere date for Survivor season 39 will likely be in fall 2019.

Two seasons of Survivor usually air every year, so we can expect to see season 39 sometime in mid-September, more specifically around September 14-26.

Survivor season 39 will be set in a very familiar location.

Jeff Probst has spoken about his love of Fiji time and time again, and season 39 was also filmed on the island nation.
