Hard boiled eggs are sometimes difficult to peel and oftentimes, half of the egg albumen ends up coming off with the shell.
Usually this happens when pulling off the shell membrane or the eggs shell itself. Here are three ways to peel the shell off your hard boiled eggs easily.
1. Prick the egg before boiling:
If you gently prick the bottom of the egg with a pin or thumbtack before boiling, it helps the shell come off easily after boiling.
2. Add some baking soda to the water:
Before boiling the eggs, add half a spoon of baking soda to the water you are boiling the eggs in. This makes them easier to peel after boiling.
3. Shake and shell:
Some restaurants peel eggs by shaking them around in a pan as seen in the video below.
