Following the confirmation of one Italian as testing positive for the virus in Nigeria, the scare has heightened in Africa.

A viral video shows the Governor of the Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu using his foot to shake that of his deputy Obafemi Hamzat.

The dramatic scene was created during a visit to Infectious Disease Hospital where the Italian man confirmed to have the deadly coronavirus is being isolated.

Jubril Gawat, a senior special assistant on new media to the Lagos State Governor shared the video on Twitter in which shows the two high profile officials performing the feet shake as citizens have been cautioned to avoid touching others recklessly.

  Speaking at the facility after sessions of handwashing and inspection, Babajide Sanwo-Olu assured that the state is ready to handle the Coronavirus situation. 

“A few people have given very wrong information as to what this place looks like.

“It’s a well put together infrastructure as against what has been wrongly reported and sent out on social media and even some print media.

“Even from the external component of the facility, we can see that it’s ready for eventualities and all of the things that we’re talking about,” the governor said.
