A man has been warned that he could face jail for downloading porn involving people performing sex acts with animals.
Detectives found more than 70 images on the computer at his home in Sunderland but he denied being into that kind of porn or even watching them.
Extreme porn
The 46-year-old’s lawyer said ‘he downloaded them, but he was just not able to get rid of them’. He pleaded guilty to possessing extreme pornographic images portraying intercourse with a living animal.
Mills arrived at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on crutches which he has used since a bike crash a decade ago.
He has been unable to work since then as a result of the collision. Laws around bestiality were tightened in 2008 and the starting point for sentencing is one year in prison.
Tough sentence
Mills’ lawyer asked magistrates to sentence him but district judge Roger Elsey told him that he would be committed to crown court which can hand out tougher sentences.
He will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on September 4.
