A 92-year-old woman who had been declared dead by a doctor in Germany, suddenly woke up and screamed in the fridge of a funeral home, sending attendants scampering for dear lives.
According to the police investigation, the doctor had pronounced the woman dead after a caretaker found her to be pulseless and not breathing at a retirement home.
Her 'corpse' was taken to the funeral home and deposited in the cold room but later that evening, an employee of the funeral home heard a scream from the fridge and on opening the door, the woman was found alive and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died two days later after suffering for a heart attack.
The 53-year-old doctor was then arrested on a charge of negligent bodily harm after allegedly declaring the elderly woman dead despite being alive.
