In the course of achieving the above-mentioned objectives, some notable pastors, just like other ordinary citizens fell victim as a result of one or two actions of theirs that were considered to be in breach of the laws of the land.
Some of the popular Ghanaian men of God who found themselves in trouble with the police in the year 2021 include the founder and leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah.
The self-acclaimed nation’s prophet was arrested in September alongside three of his men, Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene, and Nathaniel Agyekum.
Charges including threatening to kill fetish priestess-turned evangelist, Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa were proffered against them.

Owusu Bempah and his accomplices’ arrest on Sunday, September 12, 2021, followed accusations that he ordered his boys to attack police officers who were deployed to his Church premises in relation to the above-mentioned matter.
The officers were there to arrest some of his men who brandished guns in social media videos to threaten Nana Agrdaa.
Subsequently, an Accra High Court remanded the controversial man of God together with his accomplices into police custody to reappear on Monday, September 20, 2021.
After spending a day in police cells, Owusu-Bempah was hospitalized at the Police Hospital the next day before he was returned to the cells the following day.
The suspects were later granted bail and at the last court appearance, the state dropped all the charges against them before arresting them again almost immediately and proffering fresh charges against them.
Another popular pastor who also found himself in the grips of the police is Bishop Stephen Kwasi Appiah, popularly known as Jesus Ahuofe who was arrested in October.
His prophecy about a certain musician by name of Charles who he claimed was likely to be shot to death on October 18 was what landed him in trouble.

Although he didn’t mention Charles Nii Armah known popularly as Shatta Wale, his prophecy was linked to the dancehall artist who chose to fake his own shooting on the said date, claiming he wanted to prove a point.
He was charged for causing fear and panic and remanded into prison custody alongside Shatta Wale and three other accomplices.
He was later granted bail just as Shatta Wale and the three others on their next court appearance and the matter has since been pending in the court.
In that same September, the Founder and leader of Wise Chapel International at Asebu in the Abura Asebu Kwamakese District of the Central Region was arrested and put before the court following allegations that he sucked the penises of some teenagers and used their sperms for rituals.
Prophet Richard Ato Davidson was arrested by the Yamoansah Police and put before the Cape Coast Magistrate Court 2.
He was reported to have lured his victims aged between 16 and 21 into a hotel room to deliver them from evil spirits in their families.
The Assembly Member for Asebu Amantendo Electoral Area, Richard Mbea claimed that his SHS nephew was one of the victims of the alleged sexual assault.
He further claimed that several teenagers have lodged similar complaints against the suspect with the police.
He alleged that the man of God stripped the victims naked amid chants inside the hotel room which was lit with candles of different colours.
Prophet Davidson allegedly went further to use a white cloth to absorb the sperms of the victims after subjecting them to an intense blowjob.
He then allegedly threatened the victims with death if they dared reveal their ordeal to anyone.
Prophet Davidson was charged with indecent assault contrary to section 103(2) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The suspect has been granted court bail with two sureties and trial has been ongoing.
