Five Teenagers who had been drinking heavily in Turkey decided to lay on the road to take a selfie with one of the planes in the background as it came into land. Two of them however got run over by a lorry.

The dead pair were part of the group of five young men who had gone on a road trip from Alanya to Antalya. The group had hired a vehicle to transport them on the voyage of the south-west coast of Turkey.

The survivors said they had stopped by the airport's perimeter fence on their way back to look at the planes, and then all five of them decided to lay on the road to take a selfie with one of the planes in the background as it came into land.

Only three of them were however able to tell the tale as the remaining two were run over by a truck and killed.

Because it was already dark at 9pm, the lorry driver had not seen them, and had run over two of the boys identified as Muhammet Bozkurt, 17, and Caglar Savasci, 19.

The other three were only so lucky too, as they could have been reduced to mangled bodies if they had not rolled out of harm’s way at the very last minute.

Policemen called to the scene of the incident confirmed that the five friends had been drinking and blood alcohol tests had been ordered on all of the car occupants.

After the tragic accident, the three that survived had collapsed crying over their friends, while the shocked truck driver had been left to call the police and raise the alarm.

An autopsy is now being carried out at the nearby Akdeniz University Medical Faculty Forensic Medicine Morgue and police said the investigation was continuing.
