Phenny Awiti from Kenya never had any sexual relationship prior to 2008 when she was in Form Two at Asumbi Girls High School, so little did she know she was HIV positive.

However, in 2008 when a certain Non-Governmental Organisation was seeking students to donate blood, the lady got interested in the exercise because of the loaves of bread and other incentives were promised the participants.

“This time around they were giving a full loaf of bread. I did not really want to donate blood but I could not miss the bread,” she is quoted as saying.

It was after her blood was tested that it came to light that the ignorant girl was HIV positive, and she has since become an activist, empowering others carriers of the virus to overcome stigmatization.

Phenny recently announced that she was engaged to the love of her life but hardly did anyone imagine that she might have been pregnant already.

About two months after the revelation, the mother of two has shared a photo of her baby bump on social media, saying she and her fiancé are expecting their first child.

“They say when she is lost, she is pregnant. On a journey, to raising another HIV negative baby," Phenny captioned the photo.

Interestingly, she already has two children who are HIV negative.
