I made a loss from Ebony's funeral - Nana Opoku Kwarteng

Late Ebony Reigns father has denied making a profit from the singers funeral ceremony.

Nana Opoku Kwarteng has been on the receiving side after making a comeback into the media and fighting over proceeds from Ebony’s tribute concert.

He has been in the news for the past two weeks after levelling some shocking allegations against Ebony’s manager, Bullet.

Nana Opoku claims he only received 2,000 cedis from the tribute concert and that he feels cheated.

Since making that statement, some social media users have calculated all the funeral donations that were publicly made, arriving at GHC 700,000 in total.

But in an interview with Abeiku Santana on ‘Atuu’ show over the weekend, he has denied making a profit, saying he doesn’t remember the amount he received from donations.

He said he rather made a loss.

“It’s so sad I don’t remember the amount I received from donations but hope that I will compile the list someday.

No one has ever made a profit from a funeral. There’s much more than what you saw. We used the money for what we are supposed to.

“I never received 700,000 cedis from funeral donations.”

He also admitted that he received USD 9,000 from Ebony’s royalties from Bullet as reported earlier.
