According to Showbizpunchgh, the rapper kicked the bucket on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Ridge Hospital in Accra where he has been on admission for some time.
The “Yen Pie” hitmaker’s brother revealed that Bak Tye was on admission due to his health. He said Bak Tye’s health was deteriorating due to a tuberculosis diagnosed by doctors.
He believes Bak Tye may have died due to the ailment.
Bak Tye, a contemporary of Shatta Wale (then Bandana) and Samini (Batman), burst onto the music scene with a monstrous hit called “Yen Pie”.
The song which featured Samini and was produced by Agyengo was the party anthem for 2004 and beyond.
After that track and an album, Bak Tye became one of the most sought-after artistes and had collaborations with Mzbel on her breakthrough “Awoso Me” and Kofi Nti among many others.
He was almost on every show that happened around time and was just as big as any other artiste but he went into oblivion after sometime only to resurface in a bad shape.
