I would have accepted Menzgold ambassador deal if they paid well – Yvonne Okoro

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro says she would readily have accepted an ambassadorial deal with Menzgold Ghana Limited if she was approached.

The actress said she would not have minded if she was presented with a good deal from the managers of the now embattled gold dealership firm.

Menzgold kicked off with a various stars being recruited to serve as ambassadors. Among them were Okyeame Kwame, Becca, Joselyn Dumas, Jackie Appiah and Stonebwoy.

Asked on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz if she would have bought into the idea of becoming a Menzgold ambassador, Yvonne Okoro said: “If they had approached me and paid me well, [yes].”

Menzgold has been in the news in recent times following the company’s troubles with state regulatory bodies over its operations.

Currently, the operations of the company remain closed to the public, with several customers agitating for a refund of their investments.

Last Tuesday, there were fresh protests as aggrieved customers hit the streets once again in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah has been declared a wanted man both on and off the shores of Ghana after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Yvonne Okoro denied ever investing in the gold dealership firm, but expressed her sympathy for NAM 1.

According to her, the Menzgold CEO has done a lot for the entertainment industry and, for that, he must be commended.

“The truth of the matter is he did a lot for the industry,” she stressed.

“Name one person who has done so much for the industry, I don’t know anybody. I feel that sometimes who should be honest with ourselves,” the actress added.
