Abigail electrified the prestigious Britain's Got Talent stage with a mesmerizing performance. She appeared on the reality show alongside popular Ghanaian dancer Afronita, showcasing the vibrant culture of Ghana to a global audience.
However, there's more to Abigail's dance moves than just her talent. The 8-year-old lives with a hearing impairment; she doesn't listen to music with her ears but dances in perfect rhythm to any song playing.
During their performance on "Britain's Got Talent," Afronita introduced her dance partner to the judges, saying, "Abigail here is an incredible dancer from Ghana... she was actually born deaf. She recently received a hearing aid, which allows her to hear a bit, but only in her left ear."
Explaining why she decided to embark on a dancing journey with Abigail, Afronita shared: "The first day I saw her, I felt such a strong connection, I decided to mentor her. Abigail has been dancing since she was little. When I saw a video of her dancing, I was covered in goosebumps, and we formed a dance duo shortly thereafter."
Describing how she manages to choreograph with the 8-year-old, Afronita continued, "Abigail doesn't understand sign language; we communicate through body movements and gestures. She feels loud sounds through vibrations, either from her feet or in her chest."
Abigail is not new to reality shows. In April 2023, she beat stiff competition from six other contestants to win the ultimate title of TV3's Talented Kidz Season 14 show.
Abigail, who was then a pupil of the Vitnaya Academy in Prampam, has since been attracting wide recognition in Ghana for not allowing her challenge to hinder her dreams of becoming a dancer.
Making it to "Britain's Got Talent" is a dream come true for her, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Check out some of Abigail's dance videos in the post below and don't forget to show her some love.
