Rooney move to China would be 'great' - Gyan

"He [Rooney] is a great player, and he will obiviously take the league to a new level." Gyan told viasat1 Ghana.

Asamoah Gyan says Wayne Rooney would take the Chinese Super League to another level  if the Manchester United striker joins Shanghai SIPG.

Rooney, 30,  is being offered an eye-watering £75million deal to be reunited with Sven Goran Eriksson in China.

The Chinese Super League side want the Manchester United striker to become their poster boy and are ready to give the 30-year-old a three-year contract worth up to £25m per season.

"He is a big player but i don't really know if he will joiin this club or play in China. All i have heard are rumours and i cannot say anything really about that but if Rooney comes, It will be great."

Gyan joined the Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG on a reported £227,000 a week in July this year.
