Former Black Stars captain StephenAppiah on Monday paid a courtesy call on President John Mahama at the Flagstaff House.
The call was to formally extend an invitation to him to attend the Dinner and Testimonial Match in Accra on June 26, 2015, in honour of the former Black Stars captain, after retiring from active football.
Appiah, who was accompanied to the Flagstaff House by officials of the Ghana Football Association and Primeval Media, organisers of the two events said he could not organise such a programme without informing the President.
Appiah is best remembered for his selflessness and immense leadership skills that saw the Black Stars qualify for its first ever World Cup finals in 2006.
