The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended the Member of Parliament for the La Dadekotopon and aspiring member of Parliament for the Ningo Prampram constituency, Sam George.

The Greater Accra regional executive took the decision following allegation of verbal attack on them.

This means that the two constituencies  do not have parliamentary candidates.

Prior to the NDC primaries, Sam George alleged that his name and that of other 3,000 delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been deleted from the voters’ register.

He claims residents in the area are therefore calling for a suspension of polls as a result of the development.

“The party set up an entry removal mechanism. The entry removal form is not meant to just remove anybody but people who are known not to be members of the party… so on what basis was this entry removal form filled?”

On the part of Nii Amasah Namoale, he also alleged the regional executives have perpetrated fraud against him in the primaries.

A letter confirming their suspension said the two aspiring candidate contravened article 41 (3a) and 40 (8b and c) when they instigated people against the regional executive monitoring team and granted interview to the media accusing the regional executive of perpetrating fraud to the benefit of the other candidates.

They are to appear before a disciplinary committee next week.
