GES removes La PRESEC headmaster

According to reports, he has been transferred to the Curriculum Department of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The headmaster of La Presbyterian School, Samuel Salamat has been sacked for charging illegal fees.

He was among the head teachers summoned by the GES for allegedly charging illegal fees under the free SHS policy.

Following the implementation, first year students were reportedly urged to pay GH¢80 for desks or risk standing in class during teaching.

The directive, which is alien to most parents accompanying their wards to the school caused some confusion at the school’s premises.

He was summoned by the GES.

Mr. Salamat, however, refused to attend the invitation to meet with the GES Director-General, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa.

The GES, without any specifics, said it was still conducting investigations into the allegations against Mr. Salamat

After investigations by the GES, Mr. Salamat was transferred to the Curriculum Department of the GES.
