GUTA threatens to stop paying taxes from October

The Association said it will go ahead with its threat if the government does not intervene and prevent foreigners from competing in business with Ghanaians.

The Greater Accra chapter of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) has said it will stop paying and filling its tax returns by end of October this year if the government does not intervene and prevent foreigners from competing in business with Ghanaians.

According to the traders, the foreign nationals are breaching stipulations of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) legislation which excludes them from engaging in retail business.
