All is set for the governing New Patriotic Partys delegates’ conference today [Sunday, December 17] at the Heroes Park in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
This is a follow up to the Annual National Delegates Conference in August this year, at which various proposals were made for amendments to the party’s constitution.

Over 5,000 delegates, including founding members and patrons of the party, MPs on its ticket, metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives and national officers, are expected at the conference.
The delegates will consider various amendments to the party's constitution.
Some contentious amendments being proposed including banning dual citizens from holding positions in the party and Members of Parliament appointing polling station executives.
Meanwhile, the Acting Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, has called on delegates not to exhibit conduct that will weaken the party's structures.

He charged them to ensure that the party is strong and formidable for future elections.
“This is a family gathering; a meeting to see how best to ensure that our party is strong and formidable for future elections,” Mr. Blay said.
