Supt. Cephas Arthur reassigned to East Legon

The Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur has been reassigned from the Police Headquarters to the East Legon District Command in the latest reshuffle Service.

In a memo signed by the Inspector General of Police which was sighted by Accra-based Citi FM, Superintendent Cephas Arthur will now serve as the Commander of the East Legon District Command.

The memo added that his deputy DSP Sheila Abayie Buckman now serve as the new Director of Public Affairs.

Superintendent Cephas Arthur is so far the longest serving Public Affairs Director in the Fourth Republic. He served as the Deputy Director of Public Affairs under SP Kwesi Ofori.

In 2011 he was promoted as the head the Public Affairs Directorate after SP Kwesi Ofori was reassigned to the Tafo Pankrono Police station in the Ashanti Region.

Meanwhile, ACP David Oklu has also been appointed as the Director General, Public Relations.

A total of 38 other senior police officers have been reassigned in the latest exercise.

Superintendent Cephas Arthur is replacing DSP Emmanuel Basintale who was interdicted after he was caught in a gold scam.

It will be recalled that he was arrested with four civilians over their alleged fraudulent gold deals running into several millions of Ghana Cedis.
