A week's memorial service has been held in Accra for the hundreds of Ghanaians who lost their lives in the twin disaster on Wednesday June 3, 2015.
Over 150 people lost their lives in a GOIL fuel station explosion at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra after long hours of a heavy downpour which also flooded the city.
The inter-faith, inter-denominational National Memorial Service will be held at the forecourt of the State House.
President John Mahama and his vice Kwesi Amissah-Arthur led the mourners in the service.
Also present are former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufour.
Flagbebarer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo Addo and Vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also joined to mourn the victims.
