Patapaa pockets GHC5,000 for one night performance

Apart from the performance fee, the organisers also paid his travel expenses, accommodation and food.

It appears the market is getting better for ‘One Corner’ hitmaker, Patapaa Amisty, as he has started reaping benefits from his track.

In the early days of the ‘One Corner’ craze, the Swedru-based artiste lamented that though his song had gone viral and changed his social status, his financial situation remained the same.

“Oh boss what I can say is that, I’m really content with how far my song has travelled but I can sincerely say that I can’t boast of GH¢1000 in my pocket from this hardwork”, he told Kasapa FM’s Gattuso in an interview.

But the situation seems to have changed because he is performing at many events and getting paid well. His appearance at the ‘WAV Concert’ at Vienna Beach in Takoradi last Saturday, which he headlined alongside EL, brought in GH¢5,000.

Patapaa recently came in the news for refusing to perform at the 2017 RTP Awards because the organisers had offered a meagre GHC1,000 as performance fee.

The GH¢5,000 he recently received, however, is one of his highest paychecks, if not the highest since he released the track.
