Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has hit back at critics for challenging the appointment of Samuel Abu Jinapor as Deputy Chief of Staff which has raised some eyebrows within the rank and file of the party.
Some youth in the NPP seems to be against him and have expressed their displeasure on social media.
However, some NPP youth activists believe Mr Jinapor is not qualified for the job because they claim he did not show enough commitment to the party after the 2012 elections, warning that the position is too sensitive for him.
He wasn't the only one accused of betraying the cause of Nana Addo and the NPP in 2012 but he seems more painful due to his privileged closeness to Nana Addo and the trust reposed in him.
Abu Jinapor was somehow silent between 2013-1015 but came back strongly in 2016 to rebuild confidence in the NPP and worked very hard for the victory of Nana Addo and the NPP.

The vociferous activists are using social media to state their case and warned that Nana Addo would be sending wrongs signals with regards to party loyalty and commitment if Jinapor is indeed appointed Deputy Chief Staff.
But Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko on his Twitter handle defended him saying "Abu Jinapor is a trusted aide to the President-elect and has been so since 2007. He never left. He is competent, loyal and an example of the many young Ghanaians who have proven themselves and still have a lot of promise to deliver if offered the opportunity."

He said "I trust Akufo-Addo's judgment. It is up to those he appoints to repay that confidence by performing with competence, dignity, humility and integrity."
