"In recent times, 4 Service Persons are reported dead, among the reasons reported to have caused their deaths is hunger, frustration and other uncommon health related illness which could have been curtailed if and when personnel had money with them," the group said in a statement.

"Service personnel are by these notice calling on National Secretariat to immediately increase our allowance by 30% to reflect the conditions at hand and as a matter of urgency release all arrears with them," the statement added.

COLLATION FOR CONCERNED NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL(CoCNSP) CALL FOR INCREMENT OF NSS PERSONNEL'S ALLOWANCE BY 30% *****************************National Service is a call to duty by the state to its trained tertiary students. As commitment to serve its nation without any form of acrimony by students.National Service Secretariat (NSS)  posted personnel to places they deem fit against the Will and choices of persons, it is by this background that the secretariat needs to consider the conditions of service of persons who are posted to very deprived communities just like trained teachers are given.

The service personnel upon being posted to their respective districts are expected to accommodate and feed themselves until their allowances are paid, these allowances are mostly been paid after 2 - 3 months of postings which makes it very difficult for personnel to survive, this compelled some service personnel to vacate post and return later since it became necessary because, they cannot survive without any form of incentives.

The latest development is the delays, allowances due Service Personnels haven't been paid to some service persons for the first quarter and how do we expect the service personnel to survive amidst these economic hardships.National service persons are not exempted from the harsh economic conditions confronting the country coupled with the recent sky racketeering hikes in utility bills in the country which affects every single commodity in the country including health bills.

In recent times, 4 Service Persons are reported dead, among the reasons reported to have cause their deaths is hunger, frustration and other uncommon health related illness which could have been curtailed if and when personnel had money with them.

Service personnel were surcharged with an amount of 40 cedis to enable them have access to the NSS registration site, our question now is what has those monies been used for because all the various districts executives can attest to the fact that, NASPA dues to run NASPA programs at both regionals and districts levels have not been granted and we have less than 5 months to end our service.

There is an adage that"WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS EQUALLY GOOD FOR THE GANDER"

Service personnel are by these notice calling on National Secretariat to immediately increase our allowance by 30% to reflect the conditions at hand and as a matter of urgency release all arrears with them.
