The lower division side, Wa Rockets, who were determined to extend their personal record by becoming the first Wa side to reach the final of the FA Cup matched Bechem United squarely in the first 45 minutes. The game couldn’t produce any goal in the first half, as they game turned to be an end to end action.
However, Coach Zacharias Manuel's charges, Bechem United overwhelmed Wa Rockets in the second half, as they doubled up their effort to score two unanswered goals to seal a place in the final of the FA Cup.
Hamza Mohammed put Bechem United in the driving seat just three minutes into the second half. Mohammed finished off nicely after he was put through.
Richard Baffour doubled the lead for Bechem United in the 70th minute. He picked the ball just behind the centre circle and put Yaw Abotsi through. Baffour run into an empty space to pick the ball and placed it on the blind side of the goalkeeper.
Amidu could have made it 3-0, after a solo run to receive a pass, but he shot it wide to give Wa Rockets a big sigh of relief.
Mamza Mohammed of Bechem United was named man of the match.
Attendance at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium was very low.
This is the end of the road for Wa Rockets, but they would proud for reaching the semi-finals, having kicked out their city rivals, Wa All Stars at the semi-finals.
The second semi-finals will come on between Okwawu United and Liberty Professionals at 6:00pm to determine the side that will take on Bechem United in the final of this year's MTN FA Cup.
