Government has reiterated its position to erect a monument in honour of Major Mahama as a symbol to end mob justice.
Speaking at the second of the third funeral rites planned for the slain soldier in Bole, Deputy Defense Minister Major Derick Oduro (Rtd) said government will not renege on the promises it made to the family of the late soldier.
“Government will not renege on its promises to the families including the erection of a monument at a yet to be decided place to signify an end to mob injustice. As the president said, never again should we allow this to happen in the country”, he said.
So far, the police have arrested 42 people in connection with the murder of the late soldier.
