Presidential candidate in Liberias election and football icon, George Weah, on Sunday attended church service at the Synagogue, Church Of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria to seek God’s face as the country goes to the polls on November 7 in the presidential run-off.

He was part of a multi-cultural congregation at SCOAN, led by Pastor T.B Joshua.

During his sermon T.B Joshua warmly welcomed Mr. Weah.

"My brother is here today because he loves his country and wants God’s choice for his country...He is not here to impose himself. What does God say about his country, Liberia? What is God’s opinion? That is why he is here," T.B Joshua said.

He added that he was not favouring any particular side of the political spectrum but his own role was to pray for "the will of God" to be done in the nation of Liberia.

"We are not herbalists or witch-doctors; we are people of God. God’s choice is our choice. We cannot pray against God’s will," Joshua stressed.

"Without God’s corresponding power, we cannot pray to Him. For every step we take – every movement and action – intimation comes first.

"There must be suggestion from the Spirit to move before we move. If truly I am a man of God, I must hear from God – move or don’t move," T.B Joshua said.

Run-off

In all, the results of 1,232 polling units or 22.9 per cent of the total 5,390 polling units across the country were announced.

Weah led other candidates in 11 out of the 15 counties that constitute Liberia in the results released so far.

A run-off between the two top candidates for the presidency will be held November 7.
