Hundreds of workers of domestic airline operators will be laid off in the coming days after a directive from the Airport Authority for the airline operators to outsource their ground handling duties to two companies, one of which is Aviance Air Company.
It is unclear when the workers will be asked to go home exactly, but the affected workers are believed to be about 400.
News reaching Pulse.com.gh suggest that domestic airlines, Starbow, African World Airlines and Antrak are not particularly pleased with the directive by the Airport Authority. They believe that their ground handlers will have to be laid off, as the companies they are supposed to outsource such activities to will bring their own personnel.
