FA Cup champions part ways with 5 players

Asante Kotoko have shown five players the exit door including Isaac Amoako and Atta Kusi.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have terminated the appointments of five players as the team prepare for pre-season.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club, Obed Acheampong revealed that the team will not continue to work with the five (5) players.

“We have parted ways with Atta Kusi, Evans Quao, Issac Amoako, Kwame Boateng and Emmanuel Osei Carlos who expressed interest in leaving the club his contract is yet to expire”, Obed said.

The young sports journalist said management of the club are still in talks with some players that Coach Steve Polack has expressed interest in but are yet to firm up any deals.

“Coach Pollack requested for some players to beef up the squad ahead of the season but we are yet to acquire any of them for him. We should sign new players very soon,” he said.

Asante Kotoko finished fifth on the league log in the 2016/2017 season and also beat archrivals Hearts of Oak to win the MTN FA Cup.
