Mahama salutes Rawlings; calls for rededication to the ideals of revolution

In a statement signed by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a Special Aide to the former president, Mahama also called on the rank and file of the NDC to rededicate themselves to the ideals of the June 4 Revolution.

Former President John Mahama has saluted the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former president Jerry John Rawlings, on the occasion of the 38th Anniversary of the June 4 Revolution.

Rawlings is expected to deliver a speech today in Wa to commemorate the day.

Mr  Mahama said that this year’s June 4 celebration coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the NDC which falls on June 10.

This twin events presents another opportunity for members of the NDC to rededicate themselves to the values of the June 4 Revolution, which brought into being the 31st December Revolution and the National Democratic Congress, the statement said.

Mr.Mahama, who attended a lecture in Accra Friday as part of the celebration, will however not be in Wa.This is due to the double tragedy of deaths, one a nephew, Capt. Maxwell Mahama, and the Chief of Bole, has placed some responsibilities on the former President.
