Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been made a major transfer target for Birmingahamn and they have sent an offer worth €8m (£7.2m) to Torino, according to Sky Sports Italia.

The 25-year-old Ghana international has 28 caps and one goal at senior level for his country.

It’s reported that Acquah has already given the all-clear to the Championship switch.

Last season, he contributed two goals in 20 Serie A appearances, but was also sent off three times.

Acquah spent most of his career in Italy, arriving at Palermo in February 2010 for their youth academy.

He went on to play for Parma, Hoffenheim, Sampdoria and was sold to Torino for €3.1m in 2015.

Toro have been looking at alternatives for Acquah, such as Juventus midfielder Tomas Rincon or Bologna’s Godfred Donsah.
